This status has enabled us to construct professional SIA Licenced teams to work on our customer’s behalf free from shareholders and market pressure or influence, allowing us to place greater investment in operations support, producing depth of resources unmatched by our competitors.

Des set up DCL Security in 2007 after working in the Private Security Industry for over 20 years and before that 30 years military experience in the UK, Germany, Uganda, Kenya, Singapore and Cyprus.
Des is particularly focused on best practice within the sector and is a supporter of personalisation and accreditation within the sector.
Des promotes and oversees the highest standards of the private security industry while focusing on strategic matters and evaluating and overseeing current business.

Managing Director

Clare has operated at senior level in the security sector for over 5 years. Clare is responsible for creating, strategising and putting into action the company’s strategic plan.
Clare is tasked with the daily management of the company and creating and developing the business plans required for the long term sustainability of the business. Clare has weekly meetings with the Operations Senior Management team to develop and maintain strong communications mechanisms so that key issues are identified and focused on. Clare has well developed leadership and management skills which is combined with an open and inclusive approach to business and overseeing DCL Security’s competitive pricing policy for our clients.

Operations Manager

Andy is an extremely competent and innovative operation’s professional with a wealth of experience gained through the years in a diverse and challenging sector.
Andy oversees the deployment of our security personnel for both public and private clients, ensuring operation procedures are maintained in conjunction with our in-house computer system, Logosoft.
Andy ensures all of the DCL operations team including controllers and supervisors are briefed on a daily basis on their tasks for their shifts, reporting procedures and general operation standards.
Andy is passionate and dedicated to the security provision DCL provides to our clients and is often contacted for bespoke or general advice about other areas of security.

Quality Manager
Stacey oversees our Quality Management processes and ensures legal compliance and client expectations. Stacey monitors and advises on the performance of the quality management system, producing and reporting on performance and measuring against set standards.
Stacey liaises with other managers and staff in the business to ensure DCL’s Quality Management is functioning accurately. If necessary Stacey advises on changes and their implementation and provides training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.
Stacey oversee’s DCL Security’s SIA ACS audit programme working alongside SSAIB.

Health & Safety Advisor

Shaun has worked in the offshore industry for over 30 years. Shaun oversee’s DCL Security’s Health and Safety strategy. Shaun carries out risk assessments and considers how risks could be reduced. Shaun outlines safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards. Shaun regularly carries out site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented, ensuring working practices are safe and comply with legislation.
Shaun is also tasked with preparing health and safety strategy and developing internal policy. Shaun leads in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks while ensuring the DCL Security keeps up to date with new legislation and maintains a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any development that affects the private security sector.

Administration Manager
Darlene is responsible for the general office duties and is responsible for the invoicing and payroll tasks for the business.
Darlene also ensures all Vetting and Screening of staff (BS 7858:2012) and SIA Licensing of DCL employees is maintained to the highest standard following BSI and SIA guidelines.
Darlene has worked in the security industry for over 20 years and has a witnessed a number of changes in the sector which has improved the industry as a whole and has a lead role in the IT improvements in the business with our IT support, Neosys, making daily office life as efficient as possible.

Supervisor

With a background in security Fraser joined DCL in early 2025. Fraser excels in service delivery and is very focused in delivering high quality service on our customer sites.
Fraser supports DCL Operations Manager, Andy Laing in allocating and planning resource weekly and forecasting ahead.
Fraser assists our Operations Manager on a regular basis to review site based security performance and ensure highest standards are maintained in accordance with our service level agreements.

Senior Nightshift Supervisor

Mark has worked in the private security industry for over 20 years. Mark is one of our senior nightshift supervisors and is a valued member of our team. Mark is responsible for the Glasgow and Greater Glasgow area and reports to our Operations Manager, Andy Laing.
Mark has expertise in our transport and logistic sector, supporting our operational security guards on site, ensuring our clients receive the highest quality of service throughout the crucial night time hours. Mark also supports several other sectors including overseeing night static security, alarm response, keyholding and mobile patrols. Mark’s passion for security and friendly persona has made Mark an integral part of the team.

Senior Nightshift Supervisor

Jan joined DCL at the beginning of 2024 and has been a great addition to the team. Jan has adapted quickly and brings a can-do attitude to DCL operations. Jan has a background in close protection and is highly skilled in security frontline operations.
Jan is responsible for the Glasgow and Greater Glasgow area and reports to our Operations Manager, Andy Laing. Jan has vast knowledge of security operations, supporting our operational security guards on site, ensuring our clients receive the highest quality of service throughout central Scotland.
